Forest Kindergarten Warsaw
Forest Kindergarten
The Forest Kindergarten provides children with freedom, space, and a beautiful natural environment where they can simply be children — running, swinging, building shelters, climbing, being creative, exploring nature, creating and telling stories, playing, and discovering everything the natural world has to offer. Every day, we explore and learn through the ever-changing seasons and weather. Children develop socially, physically, and linguistically, while also building self-esteem and respect for nature.
Closeness to Nature
All SzumiSzum Forest Kindergartens in Warsaw are located near forests, where our children play, learn, and experience nature every day. Following the principle that there is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing, we go outside daily. On rainy or extremely cold days, we take shorter walks. When the weather is favorable, we give children plenty of time and freedom for creative play and building social connections.
Scandinavian Forest Kindergarten
In everything we do, we aim to spark curiosity, creativity, and a thirst for knowledge in children — qualities that form the foundation of learning. What we know today may become outdated tomorrow. That’s why our goal is to help children understand how they acquire and use knowledge, as well as develop interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with others. We believe that in a forest kindergarten, learning through play works best.
Social skills are key to forming positive relationships, and these are nurtured through daily interactions. We actively encourage children to make friends and connect with their peers. We also work on developing children’s self-esteem and help them balance caring for their own needs with being attentive to the needs of others. We strive to ensure every child feels valued as a member of the group and is engaged in positive interactions with peers and adults.
In our forest kindergarten, we believe in the holistic development of each child, encouraging them to be active learners. Every day, we aim to create meaningful experiences and support their self-awareness. We emphasize and respect individual needs, opinions, and perspectives within the group, responding thoughtfully to children’s actions and ideas.
Through conversation and play, we present children with challenges and invite them to participate in exciting exploration. We highlight diversity and differences as a starting point for inquiry, investigation, and learning. Every child is welcomed as a unique individual, and we strive to respect their personal experiences. We create a space that accommodates diverse abilities, viewpoints, and experiences, supporting children to develop positive relationships and confidence in their own abilities alongside others.
In our forest kindergarten, children experience empathy, which helps them develop their own capacity for empathy and forgiveness.
Learning Through Play
Together, we explore and observe nature, learn independence, and share adventures by building shelters, climbing trees, and splashing in puddles. We aim to inspire and create space for a variety of play, both outdoors and indoors. Children have the opportunity to discover, expand their horizons, and gain new experiences. We encourage them to use their whole body and all their senses in the process of learning and developing ways to support their own learning as well as that of their peers.
The forest kindergarten follows a year-round educational program that introduces new topics, environments, resources, and materials designed to foster meaningful interactions. Thanks to our unique location and outdoor space, we provide a stimulating environment that supports children’s curiosity, playfulness, learning, and goal achievement.
It is important to us that all children experience joy, laughter, excitement, and engagement, both individually and with their peers.
CLOSENESS
Being close to the child, listening attentively, treating them with respect and empathy. In our view, the most important element in early education is closeness in the relationship with the child. We draw on the principles of Attachment Parenting.
FOREST KINDERGARTEN
Our forest kindergartens are located near the Kabaty Forest Nature Reserve and within the Landscape Park, where children can fully satisfy their natural need for movement, outdoor play, contact with nature, and learning through exploration every day.

NVC
Everyone matters. We do not judge, create pressure, or use rewards and punishments. We communicate using the language of Nonviolent Communication (NVC). We support each child’s sense of safety and inner harmony by respecting all emotions and being attentive to their needs. By naming emotions, children learn to recognize their own feelings and those of others.
