A school close to children, nature
and what truly matters.

Dear Parents,

We are delighted to share some important news with you – we are opening a school built on the values and experiences you already know from Szumi. We are creating a place close to children, rooted in relationships, mindfulness, and natural development. A school where every child is truly seen – with their emotions, needs, curiosity, and unique rhythm of growth.

Children from Szumi take part in the recruitment process under simplified rules – without trial days. Additionally, Szumi children are exempt from the enrollment fee and receive additional recruitment points.

In the first year, we plan to create one small first-grade class.

What will everyday life at this school look like?

The day follows a natural rhythm and is divided into two parts: the morning – a time for focus, individual and group work, reading, mathematics, and project-based learning; and the afternoon – a space for movement, relationships, creativity, and being in nature. The forest is a natural learning environment – not an addition to the daily schedule, but a space where children experience, rest, and grow. This is where part of the educational, artistic, and project-based activities take place. Learning is based on action – children experiment, explore, ask questions, and search for their own answers. Knowledge is not simply handed over in a ready-made form, but built through experience. Art is also an important part of everyday life – as a natural way of self-expression. Painting, ceramics, and creative activities are a constant presence, alongside music and free expression. At the same time, we support the development of logical thinking and future-oriented skills through coding elements, project work, and conscious use of tools.

We are inspired by forest education, the Montessori method, and the Reggio Emilia approach – creating a prepared environment that supports independence, agency, and mindfulness in the learning process. The national curriculum is implemented carefully and responsibly, yet without pressure – always taking into account the child’s readiness and individual path of development. English is present every day – both in structured learning and through natural language immersion, allowing it to become a living tool for communication.

An important part of education also includes nature-based activities and projects emerging from children’s curiosity, supported by a rich selection of materials and a dedicated nature studio. Relationships remain the foundation of everything we do – built on closeness, respect, and dialogue, in the spirit of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

Additionally:

we plan at least one trip each month (interesting places in our city, cinemas, theatres, libraries, galleries, and museums),

we provide specialist support and individual therapy for children with special educational needs,

we enable children to participate in homeschooling (with a dedicated support program).

We are currently in the process of registering the school in the official register of schools and educational institutions of the City of Warsaw.

We are creating a place where children can grow peacefully – with a sense of safety and agency,
not only gaining knowledge, but also learning to understand themselves and the world.
